Has it ever occurred to you that most web page providers are shadowy creatures veiled in secrecy? Why is this? We've got nothing to hide. Plus our members post some very intimate data on our site so we want to take this opportunity to show you what goes on behind the scenes at GayRomeo and what makes us and our very own dog-and-pony show tick!

This picture was taken just as the first shipment reached our new Amsterdam office. But in the meantime we've settled in and now it's all motors blazing! When we get ^ more time we'll snap some new shots, that's a promise!
Users we talk to are often bowled over when they learn just what a huge amount of effort goes into keeping GayRomeo up and running. Every day an avalanche of emails comes into Support each one demanding instant attention. Then there's the Technical side which (usually) assures the smooth trouble-free operation of the servers and works on improving the site. Plus the office workers who deal with the day to day red tape and paper work besides keeping us in a regular supply of caffeine shots!
Like most of these things it all began in sheer chaos - which gradually took shape and gave birth to a halfway functional company - because without a solid base we wouldn't get very far. We decided at the start to do away with useless formalities and fancy titles like Second Assistant to the Senior Executive Database Design Consultant Manager and concentrate instead on giving our undivided attention to our work. What's the use of a smart designer tie if you're wanting to build a thriving Gay Community? We'd much rather cook up the craziest ideas and throw them around, sometimes they fly sometimes it's a bit turbulent - but it's only when we all huddle down (not what you're thinking) and get into a creative to-and-fro that a really good product can emerge. And whatever we do there's always a good dollop of fun served up with it :o)
The bottom line is that we're only human too, we make our mistakes and sometimes we're a bit slipshod. But by now we've learnt that with such a huge number of members there's no pleasing all of them all the time. And some of them are never satisfied ;o) What we do try to do is achieve a reasonable balance between all the conflicting interests.
We want to make GayRomeo a genuine Gay Community. And we can't do that with software and servers alone - they're the house but you need people to turn it into a home. We see ourselves as part architects, part janitors whose job is to make the home for the housemates as pleasant and practical as possible.
We all have our own private user accounts on GayRomeo so we're all confronted on a daily basis with lots of things just crying out for improvement. We also get a load of tips and suggestions from our members. The huge variety of suggestions we get reflects the hu0ge variety of our members interests so we'd really need an endless scroll of paper to put them all down. Some of them are straightforward to implement, some of them are more tricky and some of them are downright outlandish - like who needs a genetic modified hen/pig whose eggs taste of pork? Some of the ideas are really cool only we've got to keep our system manageable for rookies as well. Our job here is to sort out the really practical suggestions from the mass and put them in an order of priority.
...to all our members who've stuck with us through thick and thin. For the great positive and critical feedback you've sent us. And to all of you who’ve shown us your support in countless numbers of ways both big and small. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you!
